Often referred to interchangeably as Quotes or RFQs, Opportunities are very similar and closely related. An Opportunity aims to lead to a Quote, but Opportunities should be treated as indicators of a Sales Opportunity. To create, edit, or manage Opportunities Users click Opportunities under Sales from the main menu.
Creating an Opportunity
There are two ways to create an Opportunity in GleanView. Users can create one directly from the Dashboard, or within an existing Account. At minimum the information needed to create an Opportunity is the Account Name, Opportunity Name, Amount, and Sales Stage which is also referred to as an Opportunity Stage. This window allows users to include other information such as what Contacts are related, Expected Close Date, Opportunity Type, Budget, who the Opportunity is Assigned To, and more.
Create an Opportunity From The Dashboard
To create an Opportunity from the Dashboard Users will click the arrow toward the right corner and choose Opportunity. This will prompt users to enter all necessary information relevant to the new Opportunity.
Create an Opportunity in an Account
To create an Opportunity from an Account, click on the Opportunity tab under the Account Name. This will prompt users to enter all necessary information relevant to the new Opportunity.
With the exception of three stages: Closed Won, Closed Lost, and Nurture, Opportunity Stages can be created, edited, or deleted to fit the sales needs of each company. To create and edit Opportunity Stages, the Admin user clicks on Opportunity Stages under the Customization tab in Company Settings.
