Integrating with Stripe
Activating Integration
As with other integrations, payment can be activated in the Integrations tab under Company Settings.
Creating a Stripe Account
Creating a Stripe account can be done directly in the modal that opens after the previews step. To create your stripe account you will need the following information:
- EIN
- Business Website
- Business Description
- Last 4 digits of SSN
- Bank Account Information
Adding Payment to Proposal
Payments are handled for each proposal individually and can be configured in the Proposal Settings tab in the proposal editor.
These are the payment settings:
- Select Payee
This allows you to select the contact responsible for payment. The dropdown will show you contacts belonging to the account selected for the proposal. - Payment Amount
This setting allows you to determine what the amount for the payment needs to be. You can choose it to be an absolute value, for example $100, or for it to be a percentage of the total amount of the proposal, for example 50%. The payment amount can never be more than the actual proposal amount though. - Message to Payee (optional)
Whenever the proposal is ready for payment, the contact selected as the payee will receive an email notification about it. This message will appear in that email.
Payment Process
The proposal will only be available for payment once all signees complete the document. Once that is done, a few things will happen.
- Payee Contact will receive email notification that proposal is ready for payment.
- New buttons will show up in the proposal.
When the user presses Make Payment they will be redirected to Stripe's payment gateway. This ensures complete security and completely exempts you from dealing with customers payment data. You don't have to worry about being responsible for credit card numbers and information.
Once payment is complete, the user will be returned to the proposal showing the payment has been made.
