You can integrate GleanView with Gmail to automatically log emails sent to and sent from contacts in GleanView. Email integration setting are found in your User Settings:
There are two different Gmail entries on the Email provider drop down. If you want to enable Email Sending only, then select the entry just labeled Gmail. This allows you to send emails from within GleanView using your own Gmail. This integration uses OAUTH authentication.
If you want to enable Email Logging, you will need to select Gmail (IMAP) as your email provider. This enables the automatic logging of emails sent to and from contacts in GleanView. This integration uses IMAP authentication.
Note: Due to policy changes introduced by Google, Email logging will only be available with IMAP integration with Gmail beginning 1/1/2020. If you are currently using Gmail standard integration, you will need to switch it Gmail (IMAP) as your email provider before 12/31/2019 in order to continue email logging.
Once you have selected Gmail IMAP as your provider, the following instructions will display. Perform the steps listed in the instructions. You can click the links directly in the instructions to load the pages described.
Once you have completed these instructions, make sure that you have entered your Gmail password:
This password is encrypted and stored and is only used to access your Gmail account for email logging purposes.
Next, Click the Test buttons next to Email Logging and Email sending (if you have enabled them). You should get a response in the upper right corner of the page:
If you do not get the Connected Successfully response, make sure you have entered your correct password and that you have completed the in the yellow box.
Once you get successful test results, make sure that you click the Save button in the bottom right of the page to save your settings.
