GleanQuote's payment integration allows you to receive payments straight from your sent proposals, providing the most convenient way for your customers to pay you.
Integrating with Shift4 / Stripe
Activating Integration
As with other integrations, payment can be activated in the Integrations tab under Company Settings.
Click the Enable button on the Shift4 card and the API key modal will display. A similar screen will display if you enable the Stripe integration.
You can obtain these keys from your dashboard in your Shift4 account. After entering the keys and clicking the Grant button, the button on your Shift4 card will change from Enable to Disable, indicating that the integration is Enabled. You can disable the integration at any time by clicking the Disable button.
Adding Payment to Proposal Template or Proposal
Payments are handled for each proposal individually and can be configured in the Proposal Settings tab in the proposal editor or proposal template editor. If you add payment settings to a proposal template, then any proposal created from that template will inherit the payment settings.
Once you click Request Payment, you can select/enter the settings for the payment request.
First, toggle on the Request Payment toggle. You will only be able to toggle this on if you have a payment integration that is enabled.
Next, Select the payment provider. Only the enabled payment providers will be displayed in the drop down.
Next, Select Payee. For templates, this drop down will be uneditable because Payees are only selected for proposals and not templates.
Next, Select Payment Amount. By clicking the down arrow to the left of the input box, you can select whether the amount is a Fixed amount, a Percentage of the Proposal Total, or a Formula. The formula uses standard mathematic operators such as * for multiplication, / for division, + for addition, and - for subtraction.
If you select formula, the formula input box will expand and you will see a drop down arrow that displays all of the available fields for use in formulas.
In the example above, the payment amount will be populated by the sum of the proposal one time total and the monthly total.
Note that if you want users to be able to edit the amount and override the formula amount, check the Allow Edit box.
Payment Process
Users can send a proposal to a contact with signature and request payment enabled. When the send proposal is viewed by the contact, they will see the controls to sign the proposal first.
Once all signees have signed the proposal and clicked the Finish and Submit button,
then the Make Payment button displays and the status of the proposal changes to Waiting for Payment
When the Make Payment button is clicked, depending on whether you are using the Stripe payment or Shift4 payment, a modal similar to this will display:
And finally, once the customer pays, the Submitted checkbox displays on the proposal in GleanSpace with the amount and date and the status of the proposal changes to Paid.
