You can create and send quotes in any currency using GleanQuote.
You can set your default currency in Company Settings. This currency will be the default for all new proposals, proposal templates and products that are created. You can also set the way you want your currency displayed in company settings, whether you want to use periods or commas as thousands separators and decimal separators.
Changing the default currency in Company Settings will not change the currency on any existing proposals.
If you want to be able to select different currencies for proposals, then you can check the Allow Multi-Currency check box. By default, this box is unchecked.
QUOTES
When you create a new proposal or proposal template, you will have the option to select currency. This setting determines the currency of any quote tables used in your proposal.
You can change the currency of a proposal by editing the currency drop down on the proposal overview page or by editing the currency setting in Proposal Settings. This can only be done for Proposals in Draft Status. You can change the currency of a Proposal Template in the Proposal Settings section of the template.
NOTE: If there is a quote table with line items included in the Proposal or Proposal Template and you change the currency of the template, then the products in those line items must be able to be converted to the new proposal/template currency, or the products will be removed from the quote.
DEFINING PRICING IN MULTIPLE CURRENCIES
There are two ways to define product pricing in multiple currencies. The easiest was is to manage multiple currencies at the COMPANY LEVEL using Exchange Rates. When you check the Allow Multi-Currency checkbox in Company Settings, you will see a new table for adding Currency Exchange Rates. Simply click Add Row and then select the New Currency in the Currency drop down and input the Exchange Rate. The exchange rate is defined as 1 unit of Default Currency = Exchange Rate X 1 unit of New Currency.
So, in the example below, 1 USD = 0.92 Euro. This means that to change USD to Euro, you would multiply the amount of USD by the exchange rate of 0.92. So 100 USD = 92 Euro.
You can set additional exchange rates by clicking the Add Row Button.
If you already have multiple currency pricing defined in GleanQuote at the PRODUCT level (as described in the next section), you can choose to override that pricing with your exchange rates by checking the box. If you do not check this box and you have pricing defined at the product level, then that product pricing will take precedence over the exchange rate.
Once you have these settings completed, exchange rates will be used to calculate pricing on proposals and templates in currencies other than your default currency. This includes line item, option and subtotal cost, discount and price, including formula and conditional calculation of these items.
Editing the exchange rate will only change pricing on proposals in draft status and proposal templates.
PRODUCTS
The second way to manage multi-currency is at the PRODUCT LEVEL. Products can have pricing defined in different currencies. You can add pricing to a product in a different currency on the product's overview page. For each currency, you can change price, cost, volume pricing and options to be specific to the currency.
In order to add a product to a quote table in a proposal, the product must have pricing defined in the same currency as the proposal or there must be an exchange rate defined for the currency on the proposal. Otherwise, the product will not be available in the product search in the quote editor.
For Bulk Import of products, you can only select import pricing for a single currency for each import. Currency is selected on Step 3 of the product import process. All product pricing and cost will be imported as this selected currency. To add another currency to products, you must do a separate import. Use the same data in the import and same mapping, just select a different currency on Step 3.
ANALYTICS
Once you have created proposals in different currencies, the proposal, product and supplier analytics will display all currencies used.
